Got a question. I am working on a 1952 Allis B and am in the middle of rebuilding the engine, starting to put it back together. I removed the old sleeves and cleaned the block thoroughly. The old sleeves had what looked like flat o rings (or they could have just been that worn) but the new sleeves came with round o rings.

Thanks (0) Quote Reply Posted: 05 Mar 2019 at 11:15am. The B Ross steering box has a shorter and smaller diameter cross shaft than the C. The C used both Ross and Gemmer steering boxes. The only CA steering boxes I have seen was Ross which had two palls rather than one. The C and CA would have the longer shaft.

Need help/advice with an Allis B plow setup

All you 'farmerized' drawbar stuff needs to come off. Then you need the lift cyliders and proper plow drawbar, and linkage to the rock shaft. Here is a picture of a pick up plow, drawbar and other parts needed to mount ona B. If you do a google search for B Allis mounted plow, you will find all kinds of images to study.

B model serial number

There is a section on this web site that shows the serial numbers and year made. You may have to scrape the paint to get to read the serial number. If you have a narrow front, a rear that will straddle two rows, and dished rear wheels it in fact is a C. Still have the serial number in the very same location. Good Luck!

What size Battery?

The group 26 should do the job as mentioned. Its a tad smaller than the 6V group 1 battery that would normally go in the box. A group 25 will also fit. Its chassis size is almost the same as the group 1. A group 35 will also fit, being its the same dimensions as its cousin the 25, but the posts are reversed, so keep that in mind.
